On Sept. 29, 1931, James W. Jackson was the fourth and youngest child born to the late Sam and Irene Jackson in White, Arkansas. All siblings precede him in death, Louis Jackson, Verdell Hawkins, Elizabeth Hollis and one daughter, JamesEtta Jackson all of Detroit, MI.
James graduated from Morehouse School in Bastrop, LA and later moved to Detroit, MI where he lived for many years and retired from Ford Motor Company, he moved back home to Louisiana in 1985 to take care of his ill mother. James was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church where he was an honorary deacon and attended service as much as his health would allow.
James leaves to cherish his loving and devoted wife, Lillie Jackson, four step-children, Shelia Jenkins, Reginald Jenkins (Michelle), Troy Watson (Corliss) and Kenneth Jenkins, all of Detroit, MI, one godson, Lee Grisby of Bastrop, La. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, March 2, 2020, at the Second Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA.
Visitation will be held only from 11 until service time at the church. There will be no viewing after service.
Burial will follow in the H.V Adams Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funerals and Cremations of Winnsboro, LA
