Barbara Fenimore Kennison
On the morning of Thursday, June 8, 2023, Barbara Fenimore Kennison,
75, was called home to our Lord and Father.
Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elsie Fenimore, and her
loving sister, Gail Genovese.
She can now rest easy in their arms.
"Barbie" is survived by her son, Clay-her whole heart-, and her daughter,
Dawn -her unwavering strength-; Her grandchildren: Andrew, Blair,
Cruiz, Loren, Tara, and Brandy; and Her great-grandchildren: Blakely,
Jonesy, William, Odell, Levy, and more to come.
Although born in Pennsylvania, Barbara was a sweet southern girl.
She grew up in Louisiana, well-loved by her friends, family, and
community.
Barbara graduated Port Allen High School, Class of 1965, where she
made many cherished friendships that have lasted her a lifetime. She
then went on to have a career with Louisiana DOTD and Louisiana State
Police, Charitable Gaming, where she is kindly remembered.
After a 12-year battle with cancer, Barbara is finally at peace. She loved
with open arms and a big heart, welcoming everyone as her own. She
comforted others in their times of need and always gave more than she
received.
Barbie will be missed by so many but will live on in every life that she
has touched.
